Elegant Weddings in the Heart of Uppsala
Our Impression
Perhaps you have seen wedding photos taken on the grand steps, with the impressive columns and beautiful gardens in the background. But the Botanical Garden in Uppsala is much more than a beautiful place for wedding portraits, you can actually spend your entire wedding celebration here.
The architecture is impressive on its own. Dinner takes place in the Orangery, followed by dancing in Linnésalen, with Carl Von Linné himself watching over the celebrations in the form of a statue. And, of course, there are those iconic steps leading out into the greenery, with Uppsala Castle rising in the background.
What makes the experience even stronger is the team from Cajsa’s Kök, who have been arranging weddings here for more than 15 years. They know the venue inside and out, and their warm, attentive service adds that little extra to an already extraordinary setting.
One detail we particularly like is the possibility of bringing your own drinks, relatively unusual for a venue of this kind. Catering is handled by Cajsa’s Kök, while couples can purchase and bring their own beverages for the team to serve. You can also bring in your wedding cake from another supplier.
A few practical things are worth knowing. The guest bathrooms are located outside the main building, so guests will need to step outdoors regardless of the weather, umbrellas are available when needed. Part of the building is also reserved as a backstage area for the team, and weddings here are seasonal, from May to September, as the Orangery returns to its original purpose during the colder months and becomes home to the garden’s plants.
